Anatomical Endearment Cards

I made these collage cards as thank yous for the participants of my Anatomical Endearment Swap at www.illustratedatcs.com.

I really dug into the mixed media on these — using salvaged thesauras pages, color copies of my own drawings, rub-on letters, acrylic paint, ribbon, magazine pages that were crumpled – then rubbed with metal polish, torn fiber paper and acrylic matte medium gel to hold it all together!

I haven’t worked in this style for a bit o’ time and it was really fun. I’m quite pleased with how they turned out. I may attempt something like this again. I also think they look great in a grid!

I’ve been working on yellow-centric art for at collaboration project over a www.illustratedatcs.com. I started with the portrait in the middle. Tonight I added the border because I thought it needed a little extra somethin’. I’ve two pages to “fill” for the project. This piece will be the largest/focus piece for the project.

More to come on this soon.

Two of Wands – Outline

This is the last outline drawing for the Tarot project at www.illustratedatcs.com. Now, I just have to figure out my color palettes for this and the Ace of Cups card. this one requires some red because it’s in the wands suite.

Sometimes when I’m really happy with an outline drawing, I get nervous about filing in the color. This has happened with all three Tarot cards. We’ll see where they lead me!

Ace of Cups – Digital Color Test

For the Tarot project at www.illustratedatcs.com. I’m testing out some color palettes before hand coloring the original. Not quite sure that I’m there yet. Plus i miss the subtle variations that you get with markers or pencil. Hmmm?

Here’s the line drawing for the my first minor arcana. In addition to working in the cup, I also wanted to bring in water and a heart.

In the final, colored version, I’ll need to work in a fair amount of blue, but I want it to be colorful! For the first time ever, I’m testing some colors by digitally coloring the file. This should help me avoid some surprises when I work on the original. I’ll post my first colored in version.

Right now, I don’t know how to work in all the shading and subtle color in digital coloring. So, for now, I’ll test some colors in the digital and color the original by hand.

Star – Colored and Final

Here’s my Star card with color! I wanted to create a female star. I was going for a web of constellations as her hair and a glowing, brilliant center for her core. I was trying to keep a fairly limited palette, but still create a colorful, eye-catching design.

Outline for the Star Zetti Tarot Card

22 04 2008

I’m working on a collaborative project with the amazing artists at www.illustratedatcs.com. We are creating a “Zetti” style original tarot deck.

Most artists are doing one of the major arcana cards and 2 of the suit cards. I have the Star for my major and the Ace of Cups and Two of Batons for my minors.

This is the outline drawing for the star.
